Gluten Free Menus around Atlanta

In February we discussed how to dine out with allergies. Now that you are equipped with the skills, it is time to enjoy a night out. This month we share with you some Atlanta restaurants that currently have gluten free (GF) offerings on their menu. As recommended in the dining out blog, we recommend calling any restaurant in advance to confirm hours and menu offerings.

Arepa Mia

Yelp Rating: 4.5 out of 5
Located at: 209 Edgewood Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30303

Arepa Mia touts itself as a 100% gluten-free restaurant. Their menu is composed of arepas which are corn meal flour patties cut in half and stuffed with a variety of ingredients such as grass-fed beef, shredded chicken or Venezuelan style scrambled eggs. Empanadas and cachapas (fresh corn dough pancakes) are also offered with similar ingredients to the arepas.

Bantam + Biddy

Yelp Rating: 3.5 out of 5
Located at: Various locations around Atlanta

Chicken is on the menu at Bantam + Biddy. The menu consisting of breakfast, salads and sandwiches is clearly labeled with all gluten free offerings. Larger entrées such as ¼ chicken or meatloaf can also be savored. Please note that Bantam + Biddy’s website states that they “take care to provide a safe, gluten-free dining experience, however we are not a gluten-free establishment.”

Flying Biscuit Cafe

Yelp Rating: 3.5 out of 5
Located at: Various locations around Atlanta

Flying Biscuit Cafe’s extensive menu covers breakfast served all day, signature salads and sandwiches. Award-winning shrimp and grits are listed first on the “Featured Favorites” portion. The menu clearly labels all GF options and does ask that any food allergies be brought to the manager’s attention prior to ordering.

Yelp Rating: 4.5 out of 5
Located at: 887 West Marietta St Northwest, Atlanta, GA 30318

Sandwiches and wraps can be consumed at Stationwide during a traditional lunchtime. During shows at Terminal West, the menu changes to tacos which boast house made corn tortillas. While the menu does not specifically identify GF items, it does state to ask about gluten free options for most of their items.

True Food Kitchen

Yelp Rating: 4 out of 5
Located at: 3393 Peachtree Rd NE, Ste 3058 B, Atlanta, GA 30326

True Food Kitchen has a simple mission, to serve honest food that tastes really good. The menu clearly calls out GF offerings. GF pizza crust can be substituted in place of regular crust. GF buns can be used in place of regular buns for sandwiches. The menu notes that while they offer GF items, they are not a GF kitchen.

Have you eaten at any of these restaurants and have a specific GF item you recommend? Or are there other GF Atlanta restaurants that we missed? Leave us a comment and let us know what other places to check out! Bon Appetit!
